You might ask…

1. Why the name social investment? What are the returns to my investment?

Investment is putting money into something with the expectation of a positive return over which the investor has control and can monitor outcomes. In our case you invest your money with us and your return is a better society around you. Starting at your doorstep your return is a better standard of living for everyone around you. Your return is a more progressive country, a better reach of economic development and ultimately more happiness. We would like you to look at your proceeds to us as an investment, which will deliver measurable outcomes to our society

2. Who are the ultimate benefactors?

SIFI will reach those who are less privileged in India. These are people who lack access to quality healthcare, education, sanitation facilities, infrastructure and other basic necessities of life. Most large multilaterals that look to fund projects in India look at the entire country as one unit and it is tough to comprehend the wide differences that are unique to this country. SIFI has the advantage of extensive local knowledge, credible work experience, partnerships with established non-profits and an informed guidance from a team of very experienced supporters. SIFI will ensure that all funds and efforts are directed to those who are otherwise left out of the development of the country. At present our focus is on NGOs that work in healthcare and education sectors.

3. How do you intend to reach whom you want?

We intend to reach out through NGO’s who already have expertise at micro-level project implementation. Our process of choosing NGOs would factor in nature of their donors, sector/area of work, scale, credibility and the team.

4. I give you my money and you pass it to other NGO’s. Can’t I directly give it them?

You can. But as human beings, we all have soft spots – issues we are passionate about. SIFI helps you easily match your funds and direct them to the area you are passionate about.  Since, the sheer number of NGO’s in each area/sector is many; we help an Investor find an NGO that would create maximum mutual impact.

For NGO’s, we take the responsibility of raising funds which would ensure that they spend maximum time on the field focusing on their core competency.
